YouTube Originals continue their Age Of A.I series by showing us how we’re closer than ever to living on Mars.

Robert Downey Jr hosts the show and takes us inside some of the most exciting projects in the world. We get a front row seat at NASA’s AI building competition, where they invite programmers to create liveable homes for people on Mars to live in, using nothing but artificial intelligence. One of the team’s, AI Space Factory, created a robot that uses a hardening paste that’s made up of rocks that are found on both Earth and Mars and corn. The idea is that you could send the robot up into space and leave it to create homes for astronauts to live in once they arrive.

We also get to see how tech is changing farming. We take a trip to The Netherlands and see how one company is creating vertical farms that are fully managed by robots. The staff here use machine learning programmes to discover the best ways to cultivate the plants and how to get the best out of their yield.
