In a surprisingly resilient show of solidarity in the name of a free press, over thirty of the world’s most prominent news organisations put aside all of their rivalries and political differences to celebrate World Press Freedom Day. The campaign ran in both video and print format, with each organisation encouraging the consumer not just to watch/read content from their publication, but to expand their bubble of information by getting their content from all the other participating publications. In a time when the legitimacy and value of the press is constantly under attack, the campaign is a welcome respite from all the squabbling, and a great way of celebrating the purpose of a free press in the modern world.
