This short film advertising the Baltic Art Gallery in Gateshead combines animation and live action footage to create a weird sort of augmented-reality tour of the building. The camera moves from room to room, with whole sections of walls and sometimes the floor being replaced by animated figures and faces staring out of the artworks themselves. This style of animation allows the video to transition from one space to the other as though it is all one shot, with the colourful shapes twisting their way through staircases and corridors to show off the building’s striking architecture.
