20th Century Studios made this lovely stop-motion trailer for their new film The Call Of The Wild starring Harrison Ford.
The movie is based on the famous novel of the same name. It follows the story of a dog called Buck, as he’s stolen and taken to the Canadian Tundra by freight haulers. Whilst there, he meets John Thornton and the two travel across the open landscape. The core themes of the story are around the idea of self-discovery and adventure. The novel that the film is based on was inspired by its author’s experiences during the Klondike Gold Rush that took place in the early 20th century.
The movie is focused around nature, so this trailer uses twigs, leaves and bits of bush as animation tools. It beautifully gives some background to the story in a totally unique way. It’s a great example of how studios can be more ambitious with their marketing and make innovative content. Did you enjoy the video? Let us know what you made of it down in the comments.
