Apple TV released this trailer The Beastie Boys Story, which documents the amazing rise of the iconic hip hop group.

The trio started rapping way back in the early 80s in Brooklyn, New York. They initially had goofball personas and wrote songs about having fun, getting drunk and partying. But, after a short hiatus, they reimagined themselves and started making more intricate and lyrical music. Their no-nonsense attitude combined with their musical talented helped them to become one of the biggest acts in the US.

We find out about their highs and lows in this doc. Interestingly, the documentary will be presented live, with the two remaining members of the band telling their personal stories alongside the footage. It’s a unique idea and will help to bring some of their anecdotes to life. We can’t wait to see this doc for ourselves. It’ll be directed by Spike Jonze, the man behind Being John Malkovich and Her.
