See is the latest show to come out of Apple TV. It takes place in a world where all humans are blind, meaning that they have to rely on their other senses to experience the world.

One of the ways that blind animals see is through the use of sonar. The way sonar works is that a creature will make a noise and then detect what’s around it through the echoes that the sound makes. Also known as echolocation, the technique can be used by humans as well. Some blind people use echolocation but the vast majority of us don’t need to use it, as we have full use of our sight.

The opening credits of See mimic what echolocation looks like to shows us bits of the world from the show. It takes us inside the point of view of the people in the programme. What we see in the opening credits is what the characters would “see” through using echolocation. It’s a really inventive opening for a show that has a totally unique premise.
