Nike kicks off their first ever “Just Do it” campaign in Germany with this epic ad.
When most people think of Nike’s most well-known ads, they often think of shots of Micheal Jordan shooting 3 pointers, awesome Ronaldo free kicks and slick Rafael Nadal serves. But all too often one of the biggest sporting countries in the world is overlooked. We’re talking about Germany. Despite winning the World Cup numerous times and producing some of the best basketballers, golfers and drivers the world has ever seen the country doesn’t always get given the recognition that it deserves.
In this ad, we see some of the best athletes that Germany has to offer dominating their chosen sports. We see Moritz Wagner killing it in the NBA, World Cup winner Mario Gotze walking out to adoring fans and many more showing us what they can do. The ad also features shots of refugees being welcome into the country and show us some glimpses of the West Side Gallery, the last remaining part of the Berlin Wall. Nike reminds us that overcoming adversity is built into every German athletes DNA and tells us that they bring that determination into everything that they do.
