NASA has released this mind-bending hour long video of our sun. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory — SDO — has been watching the Sun non-stop for over a full decade. It has gathered 425 million high-resolution images of the Sun, amounting 20 million gigabytes of data over the past 10 years.

As well as providing us with valuable data on our closest star and how it influences the solar system, this timelapse video is an awe-inspiring reminder of how small we are in the universe. Check out the blink-and-you-miss-it moments of Mercury and Venus transiting across the surface of the sun.
