Vogue goes through the most iconic “it” bags in modern fashion in this seriously entertaining video.
The mag’s US editor, Hamish Bowles revisits some famous looks. Starting off with the stylish black Lady Dior bag, he tells us how it became a must have accessory for women all over the world. It was frequently worn on the arm of Princess Diana. As she was one of the most photographed women of the era, it was inevitable that the bag would become the icon we all know today.
The next bag to take centre stage was the massively popular Fendi Baguette. Still a go-to choice to this day, the new design changed the game back in 1997. Dior’s Saddle bag came next, then soon after came Balenciaga’s lauded Moto bag. But the most successful bag of the noughties has to be the Louis Vuitton Murakami bag. It broke tradition with its bold colours and cartoonish designs. Even if you know nothing about fashion, you’ll have seen this one around. Watch the video to find out who took the crown for the best “it” bag after that…
