The latest advert for drinks-brand Vimto plays with the audience’s sense of individuality. At first instructing the viewer to close their eyes to experience the advert properly, the video then rewards those who kept their eyes open with a quick-fire visual feast of a host of strange characters and individuals. In-keeping with the brand’s message of individuality and being “refreshingly different”, the quirky and colourful advert is a good way of subverting the usual way of talking to viewers, and speak directly to those who have a little “bit of Vimto” in them.
