The video to accompany Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s blissfully summery track Hunnybee is an exercise in ramping up tension, without ever giving out the payoff. Presented as a woman’s cartoonish and colourful train journey through beautiful countryside, the journey slowly starts to take a dark turn as we see that there are bolts loose on the train’s wheels, as well as a potential luggage accident and falling tree looming in the distance. As things build to a crescendo, all of a sudden: nothing. The train continues on its journey without any drama, perhaps a statement on how close we sometimes come to disaster without realising it? Let’s not think too hard about it and just enjoy the song eh?
