Most documentaries about travelling are confined to one area or country – however, filmmaker Dennis Schmelz recent video documents covers one of the longest distances possible. Transsiberian Dream is a film about him and his companion’s trip on the Transsiberian Railway, the longest railroad in the world that spans over 9000 miles from Moscow to Vladivostok. The video itself takes some detours from the actual railroad’s path – starting in Beijing and featuring some parts of the Trans-Mongolian railroad that runs through the Gobi Desert – and features beautiful shots of the landscapes and people they encountered put together with smooth transitions and some jaw-dropping cinematography.
