Chanel released this animated short documentary about their iconic founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel.

Despite not being an artist herself, she was good friends with many of the tastemakers of her time. The video reveals her intimate circle of creators that she was friends with by describing her through their most famous work. She was close to Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Frédéric Chopin. Basically her black book was a who’s who of important cultural figures of the 20th century.

The video takes us into her life through pictures and clever editing. It’s a stripped back animation that uses famous images to bring her story to life. It’s a clever doc from the brand the takes us inside their interesting history. Coco was a fashion icon and is still regarded as one of the biggest names in that the industry has ever produced.
