Aaron Tilley is a London based still life photographer who wants to make you squirm… This video for NOWNESS entitled Thin Skinned aims to look at food items as though they are “human surfaces”, then puts them through some pretty intensive harm – we see a peach being rolled across a surface full of pins, a sausage being sanded down and some kind of pudding (we think) being pinched with a clothes peg. All shot in super close up, the video really feels as though you are watching human skin being destroyed, and if it makes you wince a bit then just be happy to know that was the intention the whole time…
