The Strokes remade Watership Down for their music video for At The Door. Somehow they made it even more nightmarish than the original.

For those who aren’t aware, Watership Down is a children’s animated film that follows a group of rabbits on an adventure across their warren. Sounds nice enough right? Well, it’s got a few pretty violent scenes in it, which means it always draw in complaints every time it’s shown on telly.

In this video, scenes from that movie are re-created, but the rabbits are turned into mutant versions of themselves. Other bits of the video look like a mix of the best of old 80s cartoons like He-Man. It’s a blend of futuristic settings and classic stories. We can’t really keep track of what’s going on entirely, but it’s super entertaining to watch nonetheless. The art style is gorgeous and is a lovely homage to vintage ‘toons. What did you make of the video? Is this one of the best ones that The Strokes have ever done? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
