As student thesis films go, this animated short called The Present might be one of the cutest to have ever been made – produced for the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction in Ludwigsburg, Germany, the short is a tale of a young boy who is given a dog in an attempt to draw him outside and away from his video games. The puppy is missing a leg, and though the boy resists at first, its constant falling over yet determination to play slowly turns him around. We wont spoil the reveal at the end for you, but let’s just say this heartwarming short might help convince you to get a furry friend of your own at some point…
