Before Coldplay released The Scientist and ruined backwards music videos for everyone, there was The Pharcyde’s Drop. Spike Jonze directs, again experimenting with music videos to see what can be done visually. The whole video is a joy to watch as the group shuffles weirdly forwards as bikes ride backwards and shoes throw themselves back onto their feet, culminating in a sheet of glass un-smashing itself. All a lot more engaging than Chris Martin jumping over a wall.
