The Overwatch Project are launching the “War On Suicide” campaign, where they look to bring awareness of the issues that can be faced by army veterans when they come back from combat.
The ad takes us inside the brutal reality of warfare and shows us how unwavering loyalty and support for your fellow soldiers can mean the difference between life and death. For most people, they would assume that the most dangerous place for a soldier to be would be an active war zone. But the truth is, 20 past and active military men and women commit suicide every day. That means that more soldiers are dying by their own hand, away from the front line, than in war zones.

This ad campaign looks to remind people that the admirable qualities that we see in soliders in combat; loyalty, supportiveness and helpfulness, should also come back with them as well. Sometimes, supporting veterans at home can be more important than supporting them out in the field. For many, they’re more at risk alone, back in their own countries than they were in conflicts abroad.
