The New Zealand tourism board released this powerful ad where the kids of New Zealand ask you one thing. To keep the Tiaki promise.

Tiaki comes from the Maori word kaitiakitanga, which means “to guard”. The promise that tourists to New Zealand are being asked to keep is to not drop litter, to not disturb nature and to respect local people. New Zealand is a stunning country, but the large amount of tourism that the country sees means that they have to work extra hard to make sure that their natural sites are kept clean and tidy.

The kids in this video tell you that if you keep that promise, they’ll keep a promise to you as well. They promise to show you all the best that New Zealand has to offer. It’s a really nice promo that reminds us that we should always make sure that we leave countries that we visit in a better state than when we found them. Tourism is really great, but sometimes people can get a little too relaxed on holiday and not respect the local area quite as much as they should.
