The full trailer for the second season of Hulu’s critically acclaimed drama The Handmaid’s Tale gives us glimpses of the storylines and developments we can expect from characters in the dystopian future setting of Gilead. Offred/June is by all appearances still alive (we’ll leave the pregnancy rumours alone for now) and is talking about something that’s pretty positive considering her situation – “freedom”. The highly stylised and tense series will have to do a lot to live up to its ground-breaking first season, but the trailer is jam-packed with disturbing scenes and hopeful insights into a future for the women involved.
