The England Rugby Team Become Samurais In The Brilliant Ad From O2

England’s rugby team are turned into samurai’s in this awesome promo for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan.

In it, we see an ancient Japanese village under attack. The people aren’t prepared and it looks like they could be in serious trouble. But, just as things seem like they can’t get any worse, we see a blacksmith forging some stunning samurai armour. Its colour is snow white and it’s adorned with the English red rose, just like the England rugby team.

A few big names from the team put on the armour and march out to battle. As they ride out of  the village, many of the other villagers tear open their tunics, revealing England rugby shirts. The message of the ad is that the fans are a huge part of the team. Without the fans, the players can feel vulnerable and alone on the pitch. But, as this ad shows, with the fans behind them, they’re protected, ready to march into battle. It’s an awesome promo from O2 that reminds us how important national support is when it comes to big events like the Rugby World Cup.
