This kinda dark but always funny short film is a story of two young girls messing around in the Australian bush, playing the eponymous Boyfriend Game. They take turns describing their fictional lives, mainly focusing on what their imaginary partners are like in terms of looks and personality. The game amps up a notch when one girl decides she prefers the other’s make-believe fiancé more than her own boyfriend, resulting in a brilliantly acted out drama involving infidelity, betrayal and even a pregnancy, as both girls battle it out for the dreamy-sounding Fabian’s affections.
