The Blank Page is a short film by Jake Fried who created an amazing animation out of just one drawing.

In this video, we see one blank page which is continuously drawn over. It creates an effect where the image is constantly shifting and moving but also feels like it’s completely stationary. It’s like we’re going everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

The images we see makes the video feel like a trippy fever dream. We never see any colour at all, as everything is drawn in black and white. The attention to detail in incredible, as each frame is jam-packed full of intricate characters and objects. The vid was featured on Adult Swim’s patterns series, where they complied lots of interesting short films from talented animators. This film pushes the boundaries of 2D animation and shows us a new way of how animated content like this can be presented. We’re really impressed with the innovative approach that the artist took and how he was able to bring his ideas to life in a unique way.
