The BBC made this hilarious ad that pokes fun at viewers who haven’t quite understood the titles of the broadcaster’s best shows.
The cheeky ad features two of the stars of the hit show Peaky Blinders. They’re wearing prosthetics and are almost unrecognisable at first. They complain to the interviewer in the vid that Peaky Blinders was a totally different show to the one that they were expecting. They thought it was going to be about nosy neighbours peeking through the blinds. But it’s actually about a brutal Brummie gang vying to be the biggest crime syndicate in the West Midlands. So, not really the same thing then.
They say that the BBC was misleading about the content of the show and should’ve called it something else. Maybe “Birmingham Crime Gangs In Olden Times” could work? Too long? We think so. The ad makes light of silly complaints towards well known shows. The message of the promo is that the BBC will still continue to bring us great shows, even if a few people do get confused about the names along the way.
