Yep, it’s that time of year. And it seems like no matter the global health or economic climate, we can’t escape from being inundated with emotional brand Christmas films. What stories are businesses telling this time? Let’s kick off with the Amazon Christmas advert, who have released a beautifully shot and edited short film titled The Show Must Go On.

The film features a young ballerina whose ambitions of performing are disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Luckily there’s a community around her to help her achieve her dreams of performing even when the schools and performance halls are closed.

It’s a wonderful film with almost zero dialogue, showing us exactly what can be done with just images. It makes it a universal film with general appeal no matter where the audience is.

It’s great to see the festive season kick off with the Amazon Christmas advert, and we’re looking forward to seeing what other brands have in store for us in the next few weeks.
