The city of Brussels was treated to an installation that celebrates the people of the city recently – Belgian train operator Thalys combined state of the art technology with an interactive installation by creating a “holobooth”. Visitors would spend 2 minutes posing in the holobooth while their image was scanned in 360 degrees. The resulting hologram was then projected onto a plinth in the centre of the city, the tagline of the campaign being “In Brussels, the real monuments are its people”. The campaign celebrates the welcoming nature and diversity of the city’s population, and is the best use of a hologram that we’ve seen since that famous Tupac performance with Snoop Dogg…
