In an innovative way to combat the high levels of violence against women in Mexico, Tracking Systems de Mexico came up with a way of using existing technology to make the streets safer. Street Guard is a new piece of wearable tech that connects to cars that are within an area of 25 meters from the device, and when the button is pushed the alarms on these cars are all set off, alerting people nearby to what is going on. This video from the company acts as an introduction to the problem facing women in Mexico, before offering their product as a possible solution – after the success of the tech in Mexico the project is being adopted by other countries across the world.
