Author Stephen King and director Mike Flanagan speak to Warner Bros about their upcoming Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep.
The film is based on the book of the same name. King wrote both The Shining and Doctor Sleep, with the former being adapted into one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. The film deviated away from the book in a lot of ways, but this sequel promises to stick to the original story a little more than it’s predecessor.
The Shining was praised for its incredibly unique cinematography, which was created by iconic director Stanley Kubrick. This time round, Mike Flanagan is directing, and he said that he wants to keep the mood of the original film, but also wants to add new elements that’ll make it distinctive. It’s an interesting interview that gives us an insight into how he’s made the movie and what we can expect when we go and see it this Halloween. We think we’ll be in for a fright, but what about you? Do you think it’ll be a scary movie to remember?
