Squarespace introduces us to Jade Purple Brown, a visual artist who uses illustration to celebrate women of colour.

Jade noticed that the illustration industry wasn’t representing black women as much as it could. In a creative boom for visual artists, she thought that more famous women who looked like her should be focused on. She set out to fill that gap and designed a website where she could show her work. She re-created iconic images of celebrities like Grace Jones and quickly gained attention for her groundbreaking and innovative style.

Since setting up her site with Squarespace, she’s expanded her portfolio to work with big brand names like Apple and Tinder. Squarespace is becoming one of the most popular tools for creating your own website and the company wants to share the stories of the amazing people that use their service in videos like this. It’s a great showcase of the brilliant people that have been able to take their business to the next level by using Squarespace.
