Grime artist slowthai’s latest video for his single North Nights is a homage to cinematic moments from all eras. Matching his dark and experimental style of music, we see the MC recreating scenes from classic horror/drama films ranging from The Shining‘s axe-through-the-door scene, The Blair Witch Project‘s hand-held and barely lit style of filming and the famous bathroom-mirror scene from French gangster film La Haine. Not just showing off his cinematic literacy (this guy’s obviously a Stanley Kubrick fan), slowthai’s unrelenting lyrics prove he’s got the bars to match it, and we’ll be excited to see what the Northampton-native pulls out the hat next.
