Skiing Robots Take to the Slopes in South Korea

While you may be mourning the end of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, there is evidence to suggest that there is an emerging snow-sports competition that could become your new favourite thing. During the Olympics (though about an hour outside of Pyeongchang), a robot-skiing event took place, and the footage is nothing short of incredible. Eight teams took part in the challenge to create a robot that could navigate a slalom course independently, avoiding the obstacles and making it to the bottom in the best time.
