Let the grass grow long, watch the world turn back. A girl and her mother take a night-time walk through some of the South Downs’ most scenic environs in this beautifully animated video to promote rewilding.

Designer Melanie Krein uses environmental textures of green leaves and mossy stone to form hills and trees, moving and growing as the girl describes nature returning to her town.

As part of the South Downs ReNature program, the video encourages us to support their efforts to have 33% of the national park ‘managed by nature’ by 2030.

The program also invites residents to ReNature their own spaces, by doing things like planting bee-friendly flowers, avoiding plastic and keeping dogs on leashes.

You can find more advice on their website here, and bring the green back to your town too.
