REBOOTED is a stop-motion short film by Michael Shanks that shows us the ups and downs of being a skeleton in Hollywood.

We follow Phil, a skeleton who made it big in movies by starring in a fantasy epic called “10,000 Sandals”. In it, he faced off against a Roman soldier in a sword fight. The old-school flick looks a bit cheap and naff by today’s standards. In fact, Phil in general looks a bit out of date. We see him go on various auditions for modern movies, but he gets rejected time after time.

He goes for some drinks with his other monster buddies at a local bar to drown his sorrows. His friends are also pretty outdated. He hangs out with an animatronic dinosaur, an withered animation frame and a plastic-looking sea creature. They’re all pretty unhappy as they can’t get in movies anymore. Is there any hope for this motley crew of monsters? Will they be able to get their moment in the spotlight once again or are they doomed to a life of obscurity? Watch the film and find out…
