In this short film, we learn about one woman who spends her time re-creating ordinary homes in miniature. Kath Holden is from Yorkshire and creates funny, realistic miniatures.

Instead of re-creating large, lavish older-style houses, Kath re-creates little homes that you might find on a street in the north of England. She wants her work to reflect day to day life. She creates miniatures of mobility scooters, washing machines and cans of  baked beans, rather than antique Victorian furniture.

In her line of work, people normally shrink down period-accurate houses and pride themselves on making tiny versions of lavish living rooms. But Kath wants to create tiny versions of the “real” world we live in. She wants our little lives to be immortalised in miniature, warts and all.
