Greek VFX studio Floating House have released this moody short film as a way of demonstrating their CGI wizardry skills. Proteus is a journey through a futuristic “exo-planet”, where we can only assume something horrific has happened – there are shots of a deserted research facility, with blood-splattered windows and tables full of human skulls with barcodes on them. A lonely spaceship flies over the planet before we see a forest full of levitating twigs and a strange figure under the water… While the photorealistic texturing and CGI is absolutely spot on in this short film, we can’t help feel we would have liked a full length version as we’re now very intrigued by what all of this means.
