2017’s Hurricane Irma was the strongest storm to have ever been recorded in the Atlantic, and nowhere felt its devastating effects more than the British Virgin Islands, specifically the region of Tortola.

This documentary from NOWNESS explores the human stories of those who survived the storm, and who are still trying to rebuild their lives years after it tore through the Caribbean.

Picking Up The Pieces NOWNESS

Presented through the eyes of two natives to the island, we hear them talk about the devastation that the storm brought to the community. One of the subjects, a guy called John, shows us how he miraculously found his wedding ring in the rubble of his home.

Beautifully shot and putting a human-spin on what was such an internationally devastating event, the video sheds light on the fact that though it has been over a year since Irma hit, these people are still struggling to regain what was lost.
