This glitchy advert for Pepsi with Lemon is like a constantly looping GIF – a city is trapped in the same few seconds of movement as we see dogs continuously barking, a man who never gets to actually change the channel and some poor bloke stuck in a never ending cycle of loading a washing machine… The cycle/routine is finally broken when a guy tastes the drink in question, propelling himself from a plane and encouraging others to mix things up in similar ways. The ad takes a really simple visual trick and goes to town with it in an original way, staying true to the brand message and central campaign slogan – “Break the routine”.
