If you are familiar with Papers, Please, the revolutionary indie game by developer Lucas Pope, then when you hear there is a short film based on it you will be pretty well prepared for how bleak this thing is going to be. The short captures the dark atmosphere of the game perfectly, as we see an immigration inspector at the border of fictional country of Arstotzka go about it his daily routine of turning away refugees who do not have the correct paperwork. Video game adaptations are as a rule pretty terrible, maybe Papers, Please proves that keeping it short and sweet is the best way to go.
