The New York Times gained full access to Nike’s creative process when they were given the chance to design the N.B.A.’s kits for the season, and this video gives us a look at just how much thought is put into the products by their team. We see their sports research department measuring everything from the areas where pressure is exerted when athletes take a step during play to the areas of the body where clinging material might hinder them. After this data has been paired with the designs from the creative department, the end results are sports kits that Nike believe can actively drive the players forward and advance the level of the sport itself.
