Business magazine Forbes released this moving short film about sexism in the world of business. It starts off with us hearing the story about a girl who is being bullied in school because of her name.

We learn that her name makes her an outcast. It makes it harder for her to socialise and meet new people. Once she tells people her name, people don’t want to talk to her and think she’s weird. At the end of the film, we find out that the girl’s name is John. The film points out that there are more CEOs called John than there are female CEOs in total.

The film has been released ahead of Forbes’ Women Power Summit, which is focusing on the importance of women in business. The film is a brilliant metaphor for the “glass ceiling” women face in business. It highlights how your name, or more importantly whether your name is male or female, can totally change your life trajectory.
