Great Big Story interview the guy with that voice from all the movie trailers, and his origin story is more interesting than you’d expect.
Redd Pepper began his career driving the Tube in London, before a TV executive heard his train announcements and gave him his details – he has now gone on to provide voiceovers for the trailers of hundreds of blockbusters including Jurassic Park, Armageddon and The Blair Witch Project.
In the video, Pepper gives us a crash course on what is needed when providing voiceovers, showing off his range of moods all done in his signature booming tone. He also talks about the time he didn’t realise Steven Spielberg was in the listening booth, and how he swore at the world-famous director for distracting him whilst performing.
