Inspired by a real story where a lucky Lotto winner kept up a promise he had made to a co-worker years before and split his winnings 50/50, this New Zealand advert builds on this idea with a pair of armoured truck drivers. While discussing what they would do with their winnings, the one in charge of the wheel decides they’re going to “just keep driving”, sparking panic in his co-worker. The whole thing is an elaborate prank to reveal the fact they’re now Lotto winners (we’re not going to ask too many questions about the logistics of borrowing an armoured truck for a prank), and is a novel way of building on a real story to create an advert.
