Little Nora Brown is cooler than you could ever hope to be in your life, and she’s only 12 years old.
Little Nora (The Banjo Prodigy) is an incredible short documentary that profiles the young claw hammer picking prodigy. Nora started learning banjo at the age of 6, and it has quickly become her biggest passion.
The shot documentary, directed by Joshua Z Weinstein, is narrated by Nora herself, as she talks about what it is about the banjo she finds so alluring. She discusses the differences between “old time” music and current pop music, and how she prefers the unpolished and emotional sound of the banjo, as well as the songs which are steeped in history.
