If you’ve ever felt like life is a constant barrage of the same crap over and over again, you’d better strap yourself in for animator Ross Hogg’s bleak take on his own existence Life Cycles. The beautifully-drawn film sees life through his point of view in a constantly looping cycle of waking up, coffee, showering, working, eating and going home. All of this is interspersed with constant news stories of terror attacks and war, with only the odd evening of getting really drunk to break the monotony of every day life. The film won the award for best animation at the BAFTA Scotland awards, and is a bleak and colourless reminder of just how bland life can be.
