Learn the do’s and don’ts of coaching with these amusing animations

Coaching clangers is a video project from UK animation studio Blue Zoo that serves as a “how to” on what not to do when coaching youngsters in sport.

Created in partnership with Sport England to coincide with their UK Coaching Week, the video is a series of short animations depicting instances where coaching technique is actually detrimental to the enjoyment of the kids involved.

The video highlights many different bad practices, always in a tongue-in-cheek and cartoony way – we see a coach so obsessed with winning his ego causes the teams head to physically explode, a swimming coach so shouty that they get carried away by a tidal wave, and one example of a coach getting their comeuppance when they are wiped out by an extremely miss-matched rugby team.

The short animations are all genuinely informative for anyone who is passionate about sport, but done with a huge sense of fun and cartoony slapstick humour.
