This innovative French surfing film La Torche was filmed at night at La Pointe de la Torche in the North West of the country, and uses filtered lights and colour grading to achieve a kind of neon effect as we see the surfers doing their thing. Heavily stylised and adding a new spin on the format, filming surfing at night can’t have been an easy task, but film maker Hugo Manhes pulled it off and makes it look achingly cool.
