LA-based surf rock group La Luz have released a video for their latest single Cicada, and it’s a dreamy parody of old soap operas with just a dash of spaghetti western vibes thrown in for god measure. We see the band members in various overly-melodramatic situations, from tarot card readings to grieving in emergency rooms and even dramatic dune buggy chases in the desert. The titles introducing the characters and members of the band are suitably ridiculous (shoutout to Eduardo “Burgers” Rana), and the whole video feels like a deleted scene from the Grindhouse film franchise.
