When the multi-Grammy Award winning singer songwriter John Mayer and his team couldn’t agree on a budget for the music video for his latest single New Light, he decided screw it and went to a company downtown that usually make videos for birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs, not multi-platinum-selling rock stars. The result is a hilariously meme-able video that sees Mayer dancing around in front of a green screen in a hoodie and pair of pyjama bottoms, as the screen behind him takes him everywhere from outside the White House to the Pyramids, setting aside time for guitar solos and the odd dramatic quick-turn to the camera. Our favourite little easter egg – the misspelling of his name on the title card, just for good measure.
