The BBC is staying cool with this promo for their Winter Olympics coverage.

Director Balázs Simon used imitation ice to create a video that shows athletes ‘being born into ice and snow and eventually breaking out’.

Featuring a slick mix of 3D printed ice sculptures and CGI, the ad captures the momentum of the mountains in stop motion.

The set was created by Small Scale Studios, who’ve made similar tiny worlds for music and film.

You can check out some behind the scenes footage and take a closer look at the magic here.
