Tom Scott takes a step inside this amazing artificial gravity lab. Scientists in Brandeis University have created a machine that can change gravity here on earth. By using momentum, they’re able to simulate different gravitational pressures.

Now, this doesn’t mean you’re going to start floating around, quite the opposite actually! The machine emulates the gravitational pressure that can be felt by astronauts. Our bodies adapt quickly to this new pressure, but there’s a risk that when astronauts return home from space, walking and moving around could become difficult.

The machine does an amazing job of showing us how gravity works and how it can be manipulated. It also shows us just how important having a consistent gravitational field can be.
